Alternative to the Brush Graph

Post by Painterly » Wed May 25, 2016 10:34 am

Got an idea from this thread on Brush Hardness. When I first used PaintStorm, the brush graph confused me because it seemed very abstract compared to how I was used to making brush forms. I understand it a bit better now since I played around with it, but I believe it can be made simpler and more intuitive. How about something that behaves like the symmetry option for the brush? It could be a window that opens in the middle of PaintStorm. You could paint spots of black and white within a small area and the pattern would be applied in a circular path. Here's something that explains better than words I hope
On the left is my understanding of the brush graph and the right is the idea I had for an alternative to it.

You mean the circular brush form, right? Well, I just thought it might be a little less abstract that way.
