Residuals and Borders around Selections

Sometimes when you create selections, you see residuals remaining when you move or adjust the selections.

How you selected this figure? By polygonal lasso or by wizard-tool?

I think it's somehow tied with gradients and selecting from them, then using the trapezoidal control ( to warp them. It only seems to happen now and then. That said, this is the image that shows up on a simple drawing of a gradient (default I believe) across a layer - the white line shows up perpendicular to the path of the gradient. One stroke only. (The image is 1200x1200). Do it again and it may be a black line. If you draw from top right to bottom left it doesn't seem to happen. I'll be more watchful and see if I can find a pattern.

No, this gradient line bug is the known issue...
