Access to resources

Many thanks for the latest v2.0.1 Mac 'hot fix' which seems to have brought more stability and improved performance to PS on my iMac, which is very welcome. However, I am a little puzzled by the restrictions on access to additional content/resources that have appeared recently. As I do not use social media, does that mean that I will not be able to access any shared resources or additional content at all? If so, can this access be managed in a different, fairer way without punishing those who aren't Facebook subscribers? Please advise.
