Option for Copy merged would be nice.

Do you mean to copy all visible layers inside selection into a merged layer?

Yes. In krita you don't have shift-select layers to include them into merged copy. 'copy merged' just gets everything visible inside selection, and copy it into memeory

You can simulate it by the trick:
1)select area
2)"merge lower layer into new one" in layers options menu (ctrl+alt+shift+e )
3)copy(ctrl+c)
4)undo merging
5)past (ctrl+v)

Oh yes. That would be really useful.
Using copy of my whole painting is important part of my workflow.
EDIT
Oh I found that you guys added "Copy Lower layers into new one"! This is epic!
